The state of Arizona will be forcing state regulated utility companies to buy back extra electricity generated by business and residential customers. The new rule won't go into effect until the Attorney General makes sure it's legally constitutional.They're hoping this motivates business owners to purchase larger solar panel arrays in order to start paying for their system faster. Residential customers won't see much of a payback right away but the state if hoping citizens will also be motivated to install solar to participate in the "net metering" program.
